Try and watch this student’s incredible Adidas video without crying

If you want to feel all of the feels, please carry on reading.

Student Eugen Merher is the director of an incredible advert called “Break Free”, which he made with Adidas in mind and posted on YouTube.

It shows a former marathon runner, now trapped living in a retirement home, who finds an old pair of Adidas trainers and starts dreaming of running again. But every time he tries to go outside, the workers at the care home restrain him, and heartbreakingly, even take away his sneakers at one point.

*tries to hold back the tears*

However, the man won’t give up. And, while we won’t give away exactly how it ends (you can probably guess) let’s just say you’ll feel incredibly uplifted. Like, the kind of uplifted where you may have to resist the urge to start clapping.

Merher, a 26-year-old student at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Germany, told The Huffington Post that advert has been sent to Adidas’ communications department but added that they “didn’t really react”.

Well, the clip has had over 2 million views on YouTube, and we can definitely confirm it got a reaction from us.

*feels emotional for the rest of the day*

Copper show-stoppers

Hello!

I’m back in the U.K. Whoop de dooo. I’ve neglected Sweet Nothings for too long and this poor blog needs some TLC.

I haven’t stopped swooning over Pinterest and Tumblr since I landed. Golly, I’ve missed them.

I don’t think this trend will go out fashion any time soon and this shade just so happened to win Dulux Colour of the Year 2015. It’s Copper Blush. I love all things brass. There’s something rather classy about it.

Take a look on how it can be styled at home, what do you think? Me likey.

C’mon baby, light my fire.

Ignite some fiery inspiration with me over here. See what I did there? Ahem.

Here’s a little somethin’ somethin’ for all you bookworms, tea-drinkers and cosy sock-wearers. Picture yourselves snuggled up by the fire, appreciating life’s simplest pleasures…

The fireplace doesn’t need to have a fire. Most of these examples have the mantel blending into the rest of the space. It doesn’t have to be a focal point in the room. Try using candles and lanterns when lighting is a problem.  You can jazz it up by using it for other household items too i.e. magazines, books, logs, fairy lights…the list is endless and it gives the room a modern twist.

Keep warm my fellow Brits. I’ll be purchasing a new bikini this weekend for the rest of my Summer in Melbs 😉

I want to see pics of how you’ve decorated your fireplaces! Send them over to jasmine.sweetnothings@gmail.com.

Oz bucket list

So no biggie but I’m going to the magical land of Australia for a year in October. I’m a little bit excited. Starting in Sydney we’re working our way up the East Coast in true backpacker style, finishing in Cairns after casually popping along to THE GREAT BARRIER REEF. There are so many reasons why I love Oz already, I think I may fall in love with the place and never come back.

Here is a list of all the things I’m kinda looking forward to seeing…
